A HOMEBREW ONE WHEELED SELF-BALANCING ELECTRIC POWERED BOARD
Check out this Ben Smither's homebuilt one wheeled self-balancing electric powered board here. Some impressive engineering and interesting technical details. You can see it in operation in a YouTube video here. There is a version of a self-balancing one-wheel board included as part of the Segway patents, but we have never seen a working self-balancing one wheeler til now. WANTED! More information about the true origins, testing, and legacy of the Original Wheelman and about plans and availability of the latest authorized models! The company Wheelman Outback is now selling a board which appears almost identical, though reports are that it is not endorsed by the original inventor(s) and is not licensed under the existing patent. It is also said by some to be lower powered, possibly a concession made to get cheaper import tariffs by being under a certain power limit:

But a new generation of powered boards is storming the scene, offering an alternative scenario - and breaking us free from our enslavement to gravity, wave position, and the lift line. New types of powered boards offer us a nonstop boarding experience and freedom of movement that will not replace traditional board riding, but will complement and enhance it. When the surf is weak or blown out, you can still carve, zoom, and jump. When you get to the bottom of the hill, you can turn around and zoom back up - carving all the way.
When you don't have a boat to tow you (or simply don't like being dragged around) you can board across the lake under your own power. Instead of waiting 15 minutes for the next wave to arrive, you can complete hundreds of turns, tricks and jumps. In the future, rather than being towed into the most giant waves, big wave surfers may pull into the mammoth aquatic beasts under their own power - masters of their own velocity, dragged by no one.
Nothing can replace the pure and natural thrill of riding a board powered only by Mother Nature's gravity - on downhill slopes, fresh snow powder, and pristine waves that have travelled thousands of miles to form a miraculous and fleeting action surface.
But a new frontier is now open for exploration. Powered and unpowered boards are 2 sides of the same coin. It's a yin and yang thing - an interplay of harmonious opposites. Traditionalists may scoff, but those who "get it" will simply press the accelerator and zoom on... To that magic state of endless board riding that the first board-riding cave dude dreamed of as he climbed back up that moss-covered prehistoric hill to ride it down again...
